Tugboat. 11/05
[acrylic
on glass brick, 11-1/2" x 7 -3/4"]
I've
discovered that working on salvaged glass bricks -- also called bank glass
-- provides a cool way to combine painting with my goal of using mostly found
objects. The design on the painted side changes in response to the type of
light coming from behind the rear, unpainted side, and on this one the outline
of the boat and clouds are etched into the paint for further effect. They
make handy bookends, and can even be mortared together just like regular bricks
to make a custom mosaic!
