Chupa
Jason Hatfield, brother of ex-Blake Babies' indie chanteuse Julianna,
used the Dumptruck rhythm section to great advantage for this solid
demo outing.
Lauren Danielle
Lauren is a performer originally based in L.A. We met over the phone
in '89 and I offered to go to London with her to play gigs at the Mean
Fiddler and Diorama. After spending 4 days in Boston to rehearse prior
to departure, she decided to move here when we returned.
Bob Evans
Out of state transplants.
Ray Mason
Rockin' Ray was one of the most beloved acts during the first year at
the Middle East. He is still one of the region's finest songwriter's
and a god of the Silvertone guitar. Demo recorded at Longview Farm and
Downtown Recorders.
Philosopher Kings
When Billy Bragg joined Natalie Merchant for this Gary Smith-and-friends
recording session noone had an inkling that one day he'd buy my 75 percent
and become a co-owner of Fort Apache.
Scatterfield
Right after this tape was made I produced and engineered an lp worth
of tunes for Scatterfield at Fort Apache South. The band was great and
the sessions were a blast.
Studio Red
Philadelphia's answer to Fort Apache, Studio Red drew Dumptruck and
many of its' members solo projects to the city of the Liberty Bell.
Twist Offs
One of the world's greatest rock bands, based on their superlative name,
an unmatched ratio of press-to-actual gigs played (which stands at lots-to-almost
none) and the fact that they were all members of Wellesley College's
Fabulous Babes. See the article on the Twist
Offs
The Virtues
Another engineering project for Sean Slade. He was quite the busy boy
in 1991.
