AIDAAIDAN
GEORGE MARS INCAGNOLI

December and
February Ultrasounds

Here's the last shot of Sprog,
before he becomes Aidan.

Patti, our midwife, hard at work...

The first few hours the monitor
was a father-to-be's best friend. The baby's heartbeat is on top, on the bottom
is the mini-seismograph that measures contractions, not earthquakes -- tho'
at times it sure SEEMED like the latter...on the graph shown here each vertical
blue line indicates a minute...the whopper in the middle went right off the
scale, and another one is just beginning off to the right.

Nurse Jessica gets things ready
for the final push. Monmouth Hospital was a great place to have a baby, and
we were lucky to get both a wonderful nurse and a fantastic midwife.

Half an hour old, after the emergency
team had given Aidan the "green light", Aidan is given to his mother.

31 minutes in the world...Cathy's
arm still badly swollen from an I.V. attempt that went awry.

"Where the heck AM I?!!
Better have a peek"

" This is upsetting! This lady's BIG!"

"OK. I'll just touch her
with my pinkie to see if she's friendly..."

"Maybe it's not so bad
after all...she has such a beautiful smile...it seems so...familiar"
[ One hour old with a tired momma]

"All right... I'll open
my eyes and see what's going on"

Aidan's first meal...I think Cathy looks as beautiful in this picture as I have
ever seen her...

...and Aidan went from pale to
pink before our eyes.
